Settings and subscription

Find Settings in the app toolbar. You can use the toggle to expand all or collapse all sections.

The Crucible Heightmap Settings and Help dialog with the Preferences section expanded, showing added island size, undo history, autosave and randomization options

Shows the full path to each data folder next to the app, each with an Open button that opens it in Explorer. Use these to find files to share, back up, or delete.

  • Projects folder: your saved .hmproj projects (autosaves sit in a subfolder).
  • Output folder: your exported RAW and PNG files.
  • Seeds folder: your saved .hmseed seed files. Drop a shared .hmseed here to import it.
  • Logs folder: diagnostic logs, handy if you ever need support.
  • Default size for added islands (10% to 120%, default 50%): the size a new island spawns at when you add one (press N, or Add island). See combine island seeds.
  • Max undo states (5 to 1000, default 500): how many undo steps to keep. Each step holds a full copy of the map, so this is a memory ceiling. Lower it on a low-memory PC, raise it for deeper undo.
  • Autosave every (minutes) (1 to 30, default 10): how often the app saves a rolling backup. Autosave never overwrites your own saved project. See projects and autosave.
  • Multi-island randomize (experimental) (off by default): when on, Randomize can spawn several islands at once. Max islands per spawn (2 to 8, default 4) caps how many.

Sets the value each slider snaps to when you double-click it. Type a new default for any slider (overridden ones show in the accent color), or Reset one back to the built-in default. Reset all clears every custom default at once. See the sliders reference.

Shown in the app. Manage your license and updates:

The Subscription section of Crucible Heightmap settings: a masked license key with the plan chip, Manage subscription, Check for updates, and Deactivate this PC

  • License: your current plan (Monthly or Annual).
  • Manage subscription: opens the Lemon Squeezy billing portal at crucibleheightmap.drizzza.com/billing. Log in with the email you bought with (a one-time login link is emailed to you). Click the vertical ellipsis (…) and select Update to switch your plan without canceling. You can also update your card or cancel your plan.
  • Check for updates: pulls the latest version. Your projects and settings are kept.
  • Deactivate this PC: removes your license from this computer and frees an activation slot. Do this before wiping or selling the PC, or before moving to a new one. You get 2 PCs per license.

When you cancel, you stay active through the rest of whatever you already paid for. After that, the launcher stops opening the app (your projects stay on your PC). If you resume before your billing cycle ends, it’s the same subscription with the same key, nothing breaks. If your subscription fully expires and you buy again later, that’s a new order with a new key (the old one won’t work).

Your key is in your purchase receipt email, the billing portal at crucibleheightmap.drizzza.com/billing, or your Lemon Squeezy orders page (log in with your purchase email). Still stuck? Ask in Discord.

  • Changelog: what changed in each version.
  • Help: basic in-app overview.
  • License: the full end-user license agreement.
